In 2016 Richmond Council and Wandsworth Council entered a shared staffing arrangement and for eight years the strong relationship between the boroughs has been cemented with a single Chief Executive and senior management team, who lead a workforce of over 3,000 staff (excluding schools) to deliver high quality services to residents.

Each council retains its sovereignty and governance, with their own elected Councillors, Committees/Cabinets and Leaders, including responsibility for setting their own budget, determining priorities and developing local policy and programmes that matter to local residents.

The Richmond and Wandsworth Better Service Partnership delivers savings of around £10 million per year for local taxpayers in each authority.
